Kempf’s Ordering Reminders

To help your ordering experience go smoothly, please be aware of these few items!

If you are receiving a Split Half beef, certain cuts have to be the same as the other person you are sharing the ½ beef. (i.e steak thickness, bone in or bone out for Rib Steaks/Rib Eyes, and bone in or bone out for T-Bones/Strips & Filets) We must also have the same burger fat percentage. We ask that you be flexible with us as we try to match and merge the orders.

Heart, Oxtail, and Tongue are ordered on a first come, first serve basis. If another order on the same beef has already requested these items, they may not be available.

To receive heart, liver, & tongue from your own beef, we must have your order by the first Monday after the beef was dropped off.

To receive any heart, liver & tongue we must have an order by the first Wednesday after the beef was dropped off.

All orders must be received within 8 days of drop off (Friday) to order custom cuts. If we do not receive an order by then, the beef will be processed using a standard cut.

REGARDLESS OF WHEN WE RECEIVE AN ORDER, ALL BEEF WILL HANG 11-13 DAYS.

FAQ

If I get a split half beef, why do I have to match some of the cuts of the other quarter?

When we require that the steak thickness and certain cuts like T-bones and Rib Eyes have to be the same as the other split half on the same beef, we do it to ensure everyone gets the best quality cuts. If we were to split a premium loin, like where the T-bone comes from, in half in order to de-bone it for the other customer’s order, one person would end up with better steaks than the other. So, to guarantee fairness and quality, we keep certain cuts consistent between the split halves.

What forms of payment do you accept? Do you have any discounts?

We accept card, cash,  and check. By Paying with Cash or Check, customers will receive a 4% discount on their processing.

Please ask our staff what your regular price and cash discount price will be when the order is ready!

What days can I pick up my order?

Once your order is ready, our staff will call you and let you know what day your order will be ready to pick up. After that, you can pick it up any day or time that we are open. We ask that if it will be 2 weeks or longer before you can pick up your order, please call and make arrangements with us.

How is the meat packaged for pick up and travel?

Your vacuum-sealed meat is placed in our cardboard trays with handles for each handling. Each box is labeled with the customer name and our tag number. At pick-up, we will then go over the total number of boxes we have for you before you leave.

Do you render lard or tallow?

At this time, we do not have the machinery needed to render lard or tallow. We can however, upon request, save the fat from your animal. Please make sure to include that with your order as it is not automatically included with the order.
